Armed dacoits loot bus in Bengal, shots fired

A passenger bus has been looted by dacoits at gunpoint in West Bengal's Cooch Behar district. The incident took place on Monday morning in the Cold Storage area of Dhoksadanga under the Mathabhanga block. As per inputs, the bus was headed towards Nabadwip.

Eyewitnesses claimed that three goons stopped the bus and boarded it. They were carrying firearms and pointed them towards the driver and conductor of the bus. They then snatched all the valuables from the passengers.

Not only this but following the looting, the goons also fired shots. Fortunately, no one suffered injuries. Following the shooting, the passengers panicked and started shouting for help. Amid the chaos, the dacoits managed to flee the scene.

Police arrived at the spot and are now investigating CCTV footage. They also took statements from the passengers. Locals alleged that due to negligence in vigilance, such incidents are happening in the area frequently.
